Actor Akbar Gbajabiamila Plans Christmas Adventure for Underserved Kids
Host of American Ninja Warrior Brings Christmas to Crenshaw
Akbar Gbajabiamila, host of NBC’s hit show American Ninja Warrior is set to host a Christmas surprise on Saturday, December 16th at Baldwin Hills Mall for 25 children from Tom Bradley Global Awareness Magnet School.
Akbar, a native of Crenshaw and a former student of Tom Bradley, will be surprising the group of 4th and 5th graders, all who come from the underserved households, with a present from Mattel Toys along with $50 to show at the Mall. Gbajabiamila has chartered a bus from LuxBus America and will also be taking all the children out for a lunch after their Christmas shopping excursion.
‘I am so excited to give back to the community that I came from. I remember Christmas’ where we just weren’t sure if presents were going to happen, so this is really special for me,” Gbajabiamila commented.
The students will depart from Tom Bradley at 9:30am on Saturday and spend the morning with Gbajabiamila, chaperons and principle Monique Bell at Baldwin Hills Mall.
